Little One
Two lines!
Surprise!
Oh my Lord, we’re going to be parents…
Jamie and I are still trying to get used to “Mommy” and “Daddy;” “scared-out-of-our-wits” just might be the right word. Of course, this emotion is anything but new for first-time parents (and if they tell you otherwise, they’re lying).
I don’t know, maybe Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon will have it all figured out. Among their retinue of managers, nannies, diaper washers, cooks, yoga instructors and makeup artists, baby life just might be easy— even glamorous.
But, for Jamie and I? Hairy times—and poopy diapers— lie ahead. We have to break the news to family and friends, move (neighborhoods or states? we’re still not sure…), baby-proof, amp up our careers (little ones ain’t cheap), reconfigure our lifestyle all the while planning an over-the-top (yet thrifty) “Tori & Dean”-style baby shower. Wait, what happened to the African safari honeymoon of my dreams?
Our little girl, Parker Lee Briscione, due April 27th, has changed everything. But, you know what? I’m thankful for that. Our lives just got a lot more interesting.
